Who should and shouldn't
get a HeartScan CT?
PEOPLE WHO SHOULD:

Males must be between the ages of 30-65.

Females must be between the ages of 40-70.

Regardless of gender must have one of the following risk factors:
High Blood Pressure
Diabetes
High Cholesterol (>200)
Family History of Heart Disease
Current Smoker
Former Smoker
Sedentary Lifestyle
High Triglycerides (LDL >100)
Overweight
Known Vascular Disease
Post Menopausal
Heart Surgery
PEOPLE WHO SHOULDN’T:

People already diagnosed with heart disease.

People with active/current cardiac symptoms, such as chest pain.

People requiring angiograms. If you have already consulted with a physician who has recommended an angiogram, it is not likely that the HeartScan CT is appropriate for you. This test does not take the place of coronary angiography.
